Communication And Language
At Liverpool Nursery, we believe that strong communication skills are essential for a child’s development. We nurture these skills through engaging, interactive activities that encourage children to listen, respond, and share their own thoughts and experiences. In both small and large groups, children are encouraged to use their growing vocabulary to express their ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Regular conversations with adults and other children help expand their language abilities as they listen to and practice expressive language.
Daily Storytelling and Literature Exploration
Every day, children engage with songs, poems, nursery rhymes, and stories, creating a joyful routine that introduces them to the rhythm and structure of language. Each child has access to a variety of quality literature, learning how to handle books respectfully and explore how words and images convey meaning. Through quality picture books, they are inspired to develop their own storytelling skills.
Speaking and Listening Skills
Speaking and listening are foundational skills at Liverpool Nursery. Children join together each morning to welcome each other, share recent experiences, and discuss their hopes for the day ahead. Through circle time and role-play activities with adults, children learn to listen actively, share ideas, and express themselves confidently, fostering a sense of community and mutual respect.
